“Chito” was enjoying a career-best five wins in a row before losing a decision to Song Yadong in his last fight this past May, sealing three TKO finishes and two submissions during that run. It’s worth noting that defeat came at featherweight, however, and he’ll face O’Malley back at 135 pounds.
O’Malley (12-0) is yet to really be tested and won his past two fights in the first round, but +260 (3.60) underdog Vera looks all but certain to give him a sterner test, per William Hill‘s odds.
We may not envision him pulling off the upset against Sugar, but the -330 (1.30) front-runner may find it difficult to add to his KO collection.
