Tulsa’s main live racetrack is Fair Meadows at Expo Square. Races run Thursday to Sunday during spring and summer. The Fair Meadows Simulcast opens at 11am and broadcasts big races from across the country like the Kentucky Derby and Belmont Stakes. Under an agreement with Native American tribes, who receive a fee, Fair Meadows doesn’t have electronic game terminals on its premises.

There are also some great tribal casinos in Tulsa.

Tulsa has three excellent casinos: the River Spirit Casino Resort, Osage Casino, and the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. River Spirit has a 200,000 square foot gaming floor, one of the biggest in Oklahoma. Players can have a choice of over 3,100 video slots and electronic gaming terminals.

So, will Tulsa legalize sports betting in 2020?

In 2019, the only sports betting legislation that could succeed is HB 3375. The bill was approved in 2018 and would see legalized sports betting introduced to Tulsa casinos under the terms of the existing State Tribal Gaming Act. As of July 2019, however, there has been no further action taken on the bill.

Racing is overseen by the Oklahoma Horse Racing Commission (OKHRC) who regulate the industry. Under current sports betting laws in Tulsa, individual local jurisdictions have the power to allow pari-mutuel betting.
