The Cowboys (11-4) will travel to Nashville and take on the Titans (7-8) to close out the 2022 Thursday Night Football schedule and – possibly – put themselves a step closer to winning the NFC East title.

The Cowboys have punched their ticket to the playoffs with or without a division title, and they’d need the conference-leading Eagles to drop both of their last two games to have a shot at overtaking them for the title anyway. The Titans, on the other hand, need an AFC South title to earn a postseason berth, and whether they get one will be decided by the result of their game next week. They have nothing to play for against the Cowboys but pride.
All other things being equal, the Titans would’ve faced long odds to win this week anyway. They’ve lost each of their last five games – including a 14-19 loss to the Texans last week – after a strong opening to their season, and their injury report features a long list of would-be starters beyond just Ryan Tannehill. Malik Willis has started three games this season and taken a snap in eight, but has yet to eclipse 100 passing yards in a game or complete a touchdown pass. Derrick Henry – whom the team has attempted to run the offense through, especially with Willis on the field – has been a limited participant in practice.
The Cowboys have been getting hot at the right time – they’ve won five of their last six games, including a 40-34 victory over the Eagles last week. CeeDee Lamb led the offense with 120 yards and a pair of touchdowns on ten catches, and the team roughly matched the Eagles in first downs and yards while giving up only one turnover to the Eagles’ four. The offense wasn’t without struggles – Dak Prescott endured six sacks during the game – but they’re the third-best unit in the league in points per game (28.9) and they’ve averaged 406.7 yards per game through their last three outings.
Both teams have winning records against the spread, but the Titans haven’t covered at any point in their current five-game losing streak. Additionally, the over is 8-6-1 in Cowboys games this season and 5-0 through their last five games.
