Below, we’ll go over some favored teams to win it all at NRG Stadium in January, with a special focus on two teams in Alabama and Georgia that have dominated recent college football history.

Alabama 2023 NCAAF National Title Odds

Here are the odds for Alabama to win the CFP championship at various sportsbooks.

  • BetMGM: +600
  • Caesars: +650
  • DraftKings: +600
  • FanDuel: +600

While Alabama isn’t the top favorite to win it all, they’re a clear-cut second favorite and have history firmly on their side. They’re the only team to have won the CFP national championship three times since the format debuted in the 2014 season (2015, 2017, 2020), and they’ve made six total appearances in the title game (losing in 2016, 2018, and 2021).

Georgia 2023 NCAAF National Title Odds

Here are the odds for Georgia to win the CFP championship at various sportsbooks:

  • BetMGM: +225
  • Caesars: +230
  • DraftKings: +220
  • FanDuel: +220

The Georgia Bulldogs have made three total appearances in the CFP national championship game, and they’ve gone home as champions in each of the past two seasons. Their 65-7 victory over the TCU Horned Frogs at the end of last season became the most lopsided game in the format’s history – no team had scored as many points or allowed as few in the championship game.

Winning three championships in a row would be a staggering feat, but the oddsmakers clearly believe Georgia is capable of pulling it off.

Ohio State – who owns a pair of CFP championship appearances themselves, including a victory in the inaugural game – aren’t far behind Alabama in the view of the oddsmakers.

Michigan follows closely behind as a clear fourth-place team. The Wolverines have received a playoff berth in each of the last two CFP tournaments but didn’t parlay either into a championship game appearance.

The only two remaining teams with championships since the format began – Clemson (2016, 2018) and LSU (2019) also find themselves relatively high in the oddsmakers’ valuations. USC is projected to enjoy a renaissance with head coach Lincoln Riley quarterback Caleb Williams, and Penn State is well worth watching this season.
