Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest Odds: Joey Chestnut Predicted To Win

Author: AmericanGambler1234 | Last Updated: July 3, 2020

UPDATE: Miki Sudo breaks multiple records, wins women’s Nathan’s Famous Hot Dog Eating Contest.

To fireworks and apple pie, you can add another July 4 tradition – betting on the outcome of Nathan’s annual hot dog eating contest.

For the first time, legal sportsbooks in New Jersey, Colorado and New Hampshire will offer wagering on what’s become a staple of American Independence Day – watching to see how many hot dogs the kings and queens of Major League Eating can cram down their gullet during the 10-minute time limit.

NJ oddsmakers told AmericanGambler that up to $250.000 could be wagered.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s event won’t be held outdoors on the Coney Island boardwalk but indoors at an undisclosed location sans spectators. To enforce social distancing measures, just six men and five women are entered, as opposed to the usual 15 in each event.

What are the odds?

DraftKings is offering Joey Chestnut as the -1000 odds-on favorite to win his 13th men’s title in 14 years. Bettors can wager on the field against Chestnut at a betting line of +550. However, New York travel restrictions are preventing Matt Stonie, who beat Chestnut in 2015, from competing.

Miki Sudo has won seven straight mustard belt titles among the women eaters. She’s at -835 to win again. The field can be had for +500 and this might be worth consideration. Sudo’s consumption has gone down three years in a row. Last year, she beat Michelle Lesco 31-26.5.

2020 Nathan’s annual hot dog eating contest totals predictions

DraftKings is also offering total wagers on hot dogs eaten. Chestnut holds the world record of 74 hot dogs consumed. You can play him at two different totals – 72.5 or 74.5. Sudo’s total bar is established at 40.5. She holds the world women’s mark of 41 hot dogs eaten.

Bet On These Weird Sports

Hot dog eating is the only event that’s off the beaten path for which bettors can get action. Why not make a play on these usual competitions?

World’s Strongest Man

In 2019, American Martins Licis dethroned defending champion and celebrity Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson of Iceland to win this title. Björnsson is best known for portraying Gregor Clegane in the hit series Game Of Thrones.

Betting is offered on this annual competition that includes such events as the keg toss, fridge carry and giant log lift.

WWE Professional Wrestling

Don’t tell anyone but the outcomes of professional wrestling matches are predetermined.

Nonetheless, sportsbooks accept wagers on events such as Wrestlemania and SummerSlam. The scripts for these shows are carefully guarded. Otherwise, why would people dole out large sums of money for pay-per-view if the word was already out on who would win?
