The prelim card of UFC Fight Night 184 closes with a brawl in the women’s bantamweight division, where Ashlee Evans-Smith and Norma Dumont Viana will engage in a stylistic duel.

Submission specialist Viana (4-1) will be out to test the punching power of Evans-Smith (6-4), who is 1-3 in her last four fights but hasn’t entered the cage since February 2019.

“Imortal” was more recently active and stepped up a weight class to make her UFC debut in a first-round knockout defeat to Megan Anderson, but she’ll return to her natural division on Saturday.

That transition back to 135 pounds is part of the reason her +105 moneyline odds at Borgata NJ look like great value, not to mention her strength happens to be a weakness for Evans-Smith.

Not only is “Rebel Girl” returning from a lay-off lasting more than 18 months, but the ground game has always stood out as a hole in her craft. Two of her four career losses have come via submission, not to mention three more tap defeats as an amateur.

Odds: Ashlee Evans-Smith (-125) vs. Norma Dumont Viana (+105). Prediction: Viana via submission

Viana may have been outclassed by the heavier Anderson last time we saw her, but she has experience lasting three rounds and should make her takedown advantage count later on.
