In last year’s NFC and AFC Championship Games the money was pretty evenly spread around. In the NFC game between the Los Angeles Rams and the New Orleans Saints, the New Orleans Saints were minus 3 1/2. The action was split with 55 percent on the money on the underdog Los Angeles Rams to 45 percent on the favored New Orleans Saints. The Rams not only covered the point spread, but won the game outright in overtime. In the AFC Championship Game between the New England Patriots and the Kansas City Chiefs, the Kansas City Chiefs were minus 3. This time 55 percent of the action went to the favored Kansas City Chiefs, but just like in the NFC game, the underdog New England Patriots not only covered the spread, but the game outright — also in overtime.
