Which online casino game has the best odds?

With so many hundreds of casino games to pick from, how do you know which ones offer the best odds to players? Each game is unique, and some are more generous to the gambler than others.

In every casino game online, you are playing against the house. And in virtually all games, the casino will have a house edge.

The house edge is the long-term advantage over the player. In other words, the actual payouts from the casino don’t reflect the true odds of winning a hand or game of roulette.

Each game has its own house edge, and this can vary wildly from game to game. In American Roulette, the house edge is 5.26 percent. This means that over the long term, for every $100 gambled on the table, $5.26 is won by the casino. In other words, players are winning $94.74 (the RTP, or Return to Player) for every $100, with the casino taking the rest. But of course, players can go on big downswings or hot streaks which can skew the real odds.

In European Roulette (which offers players better odds of winning), the house edge drops to 2.7 percent. French Roulette has a special insurance bet which makes the house edge drops even further, to around 1.35%.

Online blackjack and baccarat offer the best house edges to players. But it’s important to employ optimal strategy when playing the games.

Baccarat has a house edge of 1.06% on the Banker bet and 1.24% on the Player bet. If played sensibly, the house edge in Classic Blackjack can be as low as 0.43 percent. Three Card Poker has a house edge starting at 1.5 percent. Of all the table games, Blackjack has possibly the best odds of winning.

Online slots tend to have far worse odds than table games. However, the top payouts can also be far higher. In a land-based casino, the house edge might be as high as 12 percent. Online, this can drop to 4-8 percent, depending on the game. It’s always worth checking the slots paytable before you play. Most legal online slots in the US will list the RTP (Return to Player percentage) in the paytable. This gives you a good idea of the theoretical long-term payout to players.
