There are two National Football League teams that are based in New Jersey, despite their name saying otherwise. The New York Giants, who play in the National Football Conference (NFC) East division, and the New York Jets, who play in the American Football Conference (AFC) East division. Both teams have a lot of competition in their own divisions, as well as the rest of their conference.
The Jets play in the same division as the current Super Bowl champion New England Patriots, and also have to deal with an improving Buffalo Bills team, as well as the Miami Dolphins. The Giants have the Super Bowl 52 champion Philadelphia Eagles to contend with, along with the 2018 division champion Dallas Cowboys and the Washington Redskins.
Both teams based in New Jersey finished in last place in 2018, but in the parity-rich NFL, that means high draft picks in the 2019 NFL draft. Both the Jest and Giants may be a couple years away from contending, and the best way to bet them in the upcoming 2019 season might be with the point spread.
