What is Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports betting?
Counter-Strike betting is betting on Counter-Strike: Global Offensive esports games. Counter-Strike betting works very to traditional sports betting. The most straight-forward way to bet is betting on the outcome of a game, these bets are presented in either fractional or decimal odds. If you are unfamiliar with how odds work: fractional betting is when two numbers are separated by a slash (/). 9/1 means that you have a 10% chance of winning, so if you bet $10 then you win $80, bringing your total to $90. An example of a decimal odd would be 9.0, a winning calculation in decimal form would be (9.0 x $10 stake) = $80 in winnings if successful (bringing your total to $90).
You can also bet on who will win individual matches in a best-of-series, the first game in a best-of-series is often more unpredictable than the later games, for example. Handicap betting is also available which is used to essentially bet on the score of a best-of-series. So for a best-of-three series, you can bet on a team at +1.5, this means that if they win at least one game in the best-of-three then you win your bet as 1+1.5=2.5 which is higher than the 2 wins the winning team would have. Negative handicap betting works the same way, betting on a team at -1.5 handicaps essentially means you expect the team to win 2-0 and if they drop a game then you lose your bet. If the match is a best-of-two then a +/- 0.5 interval is used and if it’s a best-of-five then +/- 2.5 is used.
Some sites also allow you to use in-game items instead of real money, such as Vpgame.com.
