What does “dropping odds” mean in soccer betting?

If the odds are dropping at your online sportsbook, that means that people are betting heavily on one side of the betting line. When the odds drop, it means you are getting less favorable odds than what was previously available.

Soccer betting lines open at a certain price and might fluctuate based on where the majority of the action is. Odds might drop due to injuries, suspensions, or some other factor that bettors perceive might impact the game.

For example, when Neymar was injured prior to the UEFA Champions League round of 16 showdown between Manchester United and PSG, the line for Manchester United to advance moved down from +300 to +200. When Manchester United lost the first leg 2-0 at home, the line to advance dropped to PSG -10000.
