UFC Main Card Precition: Dern vs. Randa Markos

Odds & Prediction: Mackenzie Dern (-190) vs. Randa Markos (+150)

The only women’s fight to make the main card will see Mackenzie Dern face Randa Markos, with the former hoping to claim successive victories after getting back in the win column earlier this year.

Sugarhouse NJ has Dern listed at short -190 odds after she dominated Hannah Cifers with a submission win back in May. Markos last fought in March when she suffered a unanimous-decision defeat to Amanda Ribas, who just so happened to beat Dern—her only career defeat—by the same means in October 2019.

It’s quite obvious Dern is one of the most talented grapplers in the strawweight division, and Markos told MMA Junkie she’s not looking to entertain that aspect of her fight:

“Quiet Storm” looks deserving of her +150 odds on paper, but despite posting a quite unremarkable 10-8 professional record, Markos has never suffered back-to-back defeats in her career.

The only submission loss of her career to date came against Cortney Casey back at UFC 202 (August 2016), but Dern is persistent (and talented) enough to suggest she can double that tally.
