ESports Betting Platform Puntt Launches In United Kingdom

With the coronavirus putting almost all sports on the sideline, Esports betting is growing in leaps and bounds. Now, the launch of Puntt (puntt.gg) is prepared to take wagering on Esports to the next level.

At this point available solely in the United Kingdom, Puntt is unique because for the first time, it will allow esports bettors to wager on Counter Strike: Global Offensive (CS:GO) individual game players, as opposed to placing bets on teams in competition.

At Puntt.gg, bettors wager into pools and compete against other players who are also wagering on the same game. Unlike a traditional bookmaking operation, players aren’t betting against Puntt, they are wagering against other bettors.

Pool wagering works similar to the pot in a poker game. All of the money bet on a game is pooled together. A percentage is taken off the top as Punttʼs fee for hosting the pool. The remainder is divided proportionally among the winners.

After two years in the design phase, the Puntt website launched March 26. 

Counter-Strike: Global Offensive is a multiplayer first-person shooter video game developed by Valve and Hidden Path Entertainment. Puntt is playing to offer similar wagering on Dota2 and other leading games later in 2020.
