Premier League Festive Fixtures begin Boxing Day: Picks, Predictions & Odds

Boxing Day is a tradition in England. Premier League Festive Fixtures begin Boxing Day with six matches: best three to bet on.

The day after Christmas sees people bustling around town to return presents, or buy ones they did not get from the sales that start early that morning (well, maybe not this year, with half of England in Tier 4, or soon to be Tier 17).

On my travels to Manchester, I could sit in a pub and watch people scurry around all day, while I looked up at the television to watch the other tradition: football, or soccer as it is called here (you have to use the local lingo).

This Saturday, Boxing Day falls on a traditional Saturday, so there are six matches on tap, starting at 7:30 a.m. EST. The first game might be the best, with two of the top three battling to see which team can stay with Liverpool.

There is also a London Derby that is losing its luster with every loss from one of the teams, and a coach that is using wacky math to justify the job he is doing (it isn’t working).

So here are three December 26 2020 Boxing Day games worth betting.

(Odds via Unibet, all games on Peacock Premium unless listed)

Leicester City vs. Manchester United Dec 26

Prediction: Both teams to score yes (-180), over 2.75 goals (-110)

Betting Odds: Leicester City (+188) vs. Manchester United (+140), draw (+255), 7:30 a.m. EST

Who would have thought these two teams, which played on the last day of the 2019-20 season for a top four spot, would be right back in a title fight in five months. But here we are, and these two teams come into this game in good form, off great wins. This should be a very good contest.

Aston Villa vs. Crystal Palace Dec 26

Prediction: Aston Villa money line (-105)

Betting Odds: Aston Villa (-105) vs. Crystal Palace (+280), draw (+265), 10 a.m. EST

Another team not many would have expected to be playing champagne soccer, Aston Villa is a very good team right now, and could be a team to watch if January signings come in. Jack Grealish is one of the best players in the league, and he should see the Villains keep piling up wins.

Arsenal vs. Chelsea Dec 26

Prediction: Chelsea money line and over 1.5 goals for the Blues

Odds: Arsenal (+290) vs. Chelsea (-107), draw (+275), 12:30 p.m. EST (NBC and Fubo.tv)

Let me ask you a question? Are you taking Arsenal right now in any game? Most people still see the name and think this team is good, but the Gunners stink, and are in a true relegation scrap. Chelsea should roll, but you have to think this Arsenal team would put up some fight. If the Gunners don’t, it could be adios for Mikel Arteta.
