PickStar Recap and Betting Preview for Week 9

We were finally treated to a Thursday night game with two teams that are competing for a Super Bowl. The Packers edged out the Cardinals, further proving that their Week 1 loss was a total fluke.

In our PickStar challenge, we highlighted some of the top games of the week. The leaderboard is on the move. How did you do?

Results

Q1: Will Josh Allen throw for over or under 325.5 yards against the Dolphins? Under

The Bills were able to beat the Dolphins once again, just not as convincing as the first time. I thought it could be a huge game for Josh Allen, but without much of a threat from the Dolphins offense, he only threw for 249 yards.

Q2: Who will have the most receiving yards for the Buccaneers against the Saints? Godwin

Totally shocked that the Saints could pull this game off, especially with Jameis Winston getting injured. Tom Brady threw a late pick-six, which we haven’t seen from him much in his career. But Godwin had another huge game with 140 yards receiving.

Q3: Will there be over or under 49.5 points in the Titans @ Colts game? Over

This game turned out to be even more important than we thought after Derrick Henry was injured. Ending up in overtime, the Titans and Colts put on the game of the week. Overtime wasn’t even needed to hit the over.

Q4: Who will rush for more yards in the Patriots @ Chargers game? Damien Harris

It seems like the Chargers have hit a rough streak. This question ended up being all about carries. Damien Harris got 12 more touched than Austin Ekeler, rushing for 80 yards. With only 11 carries, Ekeler’s 64 yards was more impressive, but not enough for his team to win.

Q5: Who will win the Cowboys @ Vikings game? Cowboys

I really didn’t think the Cowboys could pull this game off without Dak Prescott. They are definitely one of the better teams in the league with him at QB. Vikings aren’t consistent at all.

Q6: Will the Chiefs beat the Giants by at least 10 points? No

The Giants gave the Chiefs every opportunity to run away with this game. However, the Chiefs still have problems on offense that they haven’t experienced before with Patrick Mahomes. Overall, this was a poorly played Monday night game. Chiefs survived…barely.

Right now, the leader is at 18 correct predictions. But there’s plenty of people within reach to catch that number. We are only on Week 9, with a lot more NFL to go.

Look Ahead to NFL Week 9

The week starts on Thursday, and it is a must-win for the Colts. Without Henry playing for the Titans, it is possible they can reach the top of the AFC South?

One of the biggest games on the early Sunday slate is the Browns @ Bengals. The AFC North is as close as it can get, and both of these teams are looking to bounce back after tough losses.

The Baltimore Ravens, another team in the AFC North, needs a win after falling to the Bengals. Coming off a bye week, they need to get a win against the Vikings at home. Expect a lot from Lamar Jackson.

If the Chiefs play like they have been, the Packers are going to dominate. Even so, it looks like this game might be a pick’em, which seems absurd.

Sunday Night Football would’ve been nice with Henry playing for the Titans, but I’m not sure that Tennessee can hang with the Rams without their star running back.

It’s hard to believe that the Steelers could win on Monday night, move to 5-3, and be right in the mix of the AFC North. The Bears will be coming off three straight losses, struggling to score on offense.
