NFL Roundup – Playoff Contenders Through Week 10
There have been plenty of upsets in the last couple of weeks in the NFL. Anyone creating power rankings has a lot to reconsider after Week 10.
Betting has been tough. If you have been lucky enough to come out on top after this past weekend, good for you! I am not one of those!
We have been following the season closely with our free-to-play PickStar Challenge. Let’s look at a few of the top playoff contenders and how teams are looking in the second half of the season.
Are the Chiefs Back?
The story of the Chiefs’ season through the first several weeks was turnovers. They didn’t look like the Super Bowl-winning team that Kansas City fans grew to love.
They were 3-4 through their first seven games. The Chargers appeared to be the top team in the division, especially after beating the Chiefs in Week 3.
Now, the Chiefs are back on top of the AFC West after a three-game winning streak. They did get extremely lucky by not having to face Aaron Rodgers because of COVID. They will be going up against the Cowboys in Week 11, which should be fun to watch.
The Patriots are Real
To be honest, I wasn’t a believer in the Patriots this season. I thought Mac Jones could be good, but not in his first year. But the difference is coaching. Bill Belichick knows exactly how to use the rookie.
Again, this is another team that had a slow start while the Bills were the favorites to win the division. But the Patriots are now in the mix after a four-game win streak.
They crushed the Browns, and thankfully, it was one of the few bets that I got right.
Cowboys Bounce Back
The Cowboys are going to run away with the NFC East. The only question is whether or not they can stay consistent and compete for a shot at a Super Bowl.
I guess Week 9 was a fluke. It was the first game back for Dak Prescott, and they looked bad against the Broncos. But Week 10 was a different story. They beat the Falcons by 40.
The Cowboys are in a position to play for a first-round bye in the playoffs. With everything going on this season, I wouldn’t be surprised at all to see the Cowboys make a deep run.
Struggling Teams with High Expectations
There are several teams with high expectations that are having some mid-season problems. One of which is the Rams, who were dominated by the 49ers on Monday Night Football. Is it the curse of Odell Beckham Jr.?
Then there’s the Buccaneers, who we will never count out because of Tom Brady. But the past two weeks have been rough. In Week 10, they were beaten by the Washington Football Team and the offense could never get anything going.
Henry-less Titans
The Titans are 8-2 and have won their last six games. But I can’t completely trust this team without Derrick Henry.
He had such an impact on their offense, and he always seems to get better as the season goes on and teams get banged up. With him, they might be my pick to win it all this season. Without him, I’m just not too sure.
PickStar Challenge Week 11
In our PickStar Challenge, we didn’t have any winners in Week 10. There were several tough questions that tripped folks up, such as the Rams getting beat on Monday night.
This week, our new questions are live, featuring some of the key matchups in Week 11. There’s $1,000 in prize money up for grabs!
