Chargers vs Browns Preview

- Location: FirstEnergy Stadium, Cleveland, OH
- Time/Network: 1 PM ET | CBS
The Chargers (2-2) and Browns (2-2) both come into this game on even terms after splitting their first four games of the season. It has been an up-and-down start for both franchises and they will both look to get on track with a big win over a fellow AFC competitor.
After starting the year with a win, Los Angeles struggled in Weeks 2 and 3, dropping a narrow contest against Kansas City and getting blown out at home against Jacksonville. They got back in the win column last week with a much-needed win at Houston.
Justin Herbert looked more like himself in Week 4, firing for 340 yards and a pair of touchdowns. He has been dealing with a rib injury he sustained in Week 2 against the Chiefs. If the Chargers are going to make a run this year, they need a healthy Herbert.
The Browns haven’t been able to sustain any momentum in the early stretch of the season, following up their two wins with a loss each time. They have an excellent ground game spearheaded by Nich Chubb. Cleveland ranks 2nd in the NFL in rushing, averaging better than 187 yards per game.
Cleveland will want to do a much better job closing out games in the 4th quarter. They were stunned by the Jets in Week 2, blowing a 13-point lead in the final two minutes. The Browns also coughed up a late lead last week in Atlanta.
