Reynolds and McElhenney’s pledge to the club and local area generated tremendous enthusiasm and attention during the acquisition. That has brought new life to the club, which, in April 2023, moved up to the fourth division of English soccer after a 15-year absence.
The Red Dragons are coming off a National League title win, which allowed them to move up to the English Football League Two. It was the result of the team achieving 111 points in 46 games to lead the fifth tier.
