World Series Preview
Here’s a schedule overview of the 2023 World Series:
- Game 1 – Arizona Diamondbacks at Texas Rangers – Friday, October 27, 8pm ET
- Game 2 – Arizona Diamondbacks at Texas Rangers – Saturday, October 28, 8pm ET
- Game 3 – Texas Rangers at Arizona Diamondbacks – Monday, October 30 8pm ET
- Game 4 – Texas Rangers at Arizona Diamondbacks – Tuesday, October 31, 8pm ET
- Game 5* – Texas Rangers at Arizona Diamondbacks – Wednesday, November 1, 8pm ET
- Game 6* – Arizona Diamondbacks at Texas Rangers – Friday, November 3, 8pm ET
- Game 7* – Arizona Diamondbacks at Texas Rangers – Saturday, November 4, 8pm ET
The Diamondbacks and Rangers entered the playoffs as the 6 seed in the NL and 5 seed in the AL, respectively. Despite their longshot status, both advanced to their respective league championship rounds before losing their first playoff game.
The Rangers outscored the Tampa Bay Rays 11-1 through two road games to advance, then shocked the Baltimore Orioles – who finished an AL-best 101-61 – in the division round. From there, the Rangers proceeded to win a curious AL championship round against the Houston Astros; they lost all three home games, won all four road games, and outscored Houston 20-6 through the last two games of the series.
The Diamondbacks, similarly, outscored the Milwaukee Brewers and Los Angeles Dodgers 30-11 en route to the NLCS, where they played the Philadelphia Phillies. After dropping their first two games to Philadelphia by a combined 3-15 margin, Arizona came back to win four of the series’ last five games to advance.

World Series Predictions
Both teams involved in the World Series this year have embarrassed anyone that’s attempted to predict anything up to this point. If there’s a longshot bet you like for whatever reason, don’t let conventional wisdom talk you out of it.
That said, the over is 5-0-1 in the Rangers’ last six games from the ALCS. Nathan Eovaldi – the Rangers’ pitcher for Game 1 – is 4-0 through the playoffs thus far. On the other side, the Diamondbacks have lost each of Zach Gallen’s last two starts.
Texas is a logical favorite to win the first game, for what that’s worth, but there’s a reason the lines for the rest of the series are so narrowly separated.
