The Irish are coming off possibly the best game of last weekend, where they fell 17-14 to annual powerhouse Ohio State on a (literal) last-second touchdown from the Buckeyes with only 10 players on the field for the Irish defense. They’ll be looking to get back in the win column this week against Duke, a team they’ve soundly beaten in each of their last two matchups dating back to 2019.
The Blue Devils are 4-0 and several weeks removed from their dominant win over Clemson that put them on the map this season, but they’ve taken care of business against inferior opponents in each of the last three weeks. They covered a 22-point spread as the favorite against UConn last week, one week after they covered a 17-point spread as favorites against Northwestern. Altogether, Duke has outscored their opponents 149-35 this season – Notre Dame figures to give them a greater challenge.
