Below, we’ll go over some of the more intriguing games fans can look forward to betting in Week 2, and some of the best betting apps to wager on.
#13 Notre Dame at NC State
- Game Time: September 9, 12:00 PM ET
- Moneyline: ND -295, NCST +235
- Spread: ND -7.0
- Total: 51.5
After reeling off a 42-3 win over Navy and 56-3 win over Tennessee State, eyes across the country will be watching the Fighting Irish this weekend to see if they can bring the same dominance to a Power 5 opponent in NC State.
The teams haven’t met since 2017, but the Wolfpack will be facing a familiar quarterback in Sam Hartman – whom the Fighting Irish acquired this offseason via transfer from Wake Forest. Hartman has completed 33 of 40 passes so far this season, accounting for 445 yards while boasting a 6-0 TD-INT ratio. It’s been a much better performance thus far than he put up against the Wolfpack last season, when the Demon Deacons lost 21-30 as Hartman threw 3 interceptions.

#25 Iowa at Iowa State
- Game Time: September 9, 3:30 PM ET
- Moneyline: IOWA -176, ISU +146
- Spread: IOWA -3.5
- Total: 36.5
The Cy-Hawk game comes early this season, as the cross-state rivals Iowa and Iowa State are set to kick off for a mid-afternoon game this Saturday.
Don’t expect fireworks in this one – Iowa fielded a notoriously anemic offense in 2022, with the most consistent winner through their last ten games being the under (7-3). Iowa State wasn’t vastly better, going 2-8 overall in the 2022 season with the under going 8-2 throughout. In the last ten head-to-head matchups between these teams dating back to 2012 (no game was played in 2020), the under is 7-2-1.
Both teams won in Week 1, with Iowa handling Utah State 24-14 and Iowa State defeating Northern Iowa 30-9. We’ll see if those points translate to the upcoming matchup.

#11 Texas at #4 Alabama
- Game Time: September 9, 7:00 PM ET
- Moneyline: TEX +225, ALA -280
- Spread: ALA -7.0
- Total: 55.5
Week 2 gives us a rematch of one of the most notorious games from the 2022 season between Texas and Alabama. The game ended in a 20-19 Alabama victory, with the Crimson Tide sneaking out of Austin with a win after the Longhorns lost starting quarterback Quinn Ewers to injury. Like last season, both teams enter the game early in the season with their playoff ambitions fully intact. Unlike last season, the game will be in Tuscaloosa, and Alabama won’t have Bryce Young – 2021 Heisman winner and the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft – under center.
The Longhorns and Crimson Tide will be SEC rivals soon, but their matchup history to this point is short. Before last year’s photo finish, the last meeting between the two teams came in the 2010 BCS National Championship Game.
