In New York, sports betting will initially launch in four upstate casinos: Resorts World Catskills (in partnership with bet365), Rivers Casino and Resort Schenectady (in partnership with Rush Stree Gaming), Tioga Downs Casino Resort (in partnership with Paddy Power BetFair and FanDuel) and Del Lago Resort and Casino (in partnership with DraftKings).
The casinos hope to receive licensing by Aug. 1 or shortly before the start of the NFL regular season. Tribal casinos in the state also plan to launch sports wagering soon. Mobile wagering is expected to remain prohibited for the time being, however.
More will be known on the future of mobile and in-stadium wagering by the end of next week.
New York and New Hampshire become the 14th and 15th states, respectively, to legalize sports betting.
