Big East Tournament Betting Lines

There are several exciting options to consider when placing a wager on the Big East Tournament. The first option is a futures bet, where you select the team you think will win the Tournament prior to the start.

Because selecting the overall winner is more challenging than picking an individual game, you will generally get favorable odds on futures, even if you back one of the favorites.

You have several additional betting options if you want to bet on individual games.

Big East Moneylines

These are bets on which team you think will win the game outright. These tend to be safer bets as you don’t need to concern yourself with point spreads.

You don’t get very favorable odds here unless you back the underdog.

Big East Spreads

Point spreads are bets on a fixed line. This accounts for the perceived discrepancy between the teams by giving points to the underdog at the start of the game (i.e., Creighton +4).

For the favorite to cover the spread, they need to win the game by more than the set number. If Uconn was favored by four points against Creighton and you bet them, but they only won by three or fewer, your bet would grade as a loss.

Big East Totals

These are wagers on the total number of points the two teams will combine to score. The overall winners and losers don’t matter here; you are only concerned with how much scoring there is.

If the line is set at 141.5, and you wanted to select the over, you would need the two teams to combine for 142 or more. Inversely, if you chose the under, you would need the teams to combine for 141 or less.
