- NASCAR Monster Energy Cup Pocono 400
- Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Pocono Raceway, Long Pond, Pa.
Coming off one of the biggest races of the season, the NASCAR Monster Energy Cup season moves to Pennsylvania this week for the Pocono 400, which will be held this Sunday at Pocono Raceway in Long Pond, Pa.
Current points leader Kyle Busch is the +333 favorite at BetStars Sportsbook to win the Pocono 400 heading into the 14th event of the season. Busch won here last August and has three-straight top-three finishes. He already has three wins this season and seven top ten finishes. Busch is -134 at DraftKings Sportsbook to achieve a Top 3 finish in the race.
Kevin Harvick has benefitted at Pocono since moving to Stewart-Haas with four second-place results in nine starts here with the team, including seven finishes in the top four. Harvick is 9to-2 to win the race this week at SugarHouse Sportsbook.
Red-hot Martin Truex Jr. is coming off the big win last week at the Coca-Cola 600 at Charlotte Motor Speedway for his third win of the campaign, all coming within his last five starts. He’s moved to sixth in the Cup points race. Last June, Truex won right here at the triangle. He is 6-to-1 at DraftKings Sportsbook to win the event.
Brad Keselowski is currently fifth in the Cup standings and is the 15-to-2 fourth choice at DraftKings Sportsbook. Keselowski has fared well here, finishing sixth or better in eight of his last 11 at this circuit.
Currently third in the chase, Chase Elliott is widely-regarded as the fifth choice in the betting this week, along with Joey Logano, who is second in points and finished second at the Coca-Cola 600 last week.
Elliott has had success with the Tricky Triangle, finishing with five top tens here in this last six starts and was second in Charlotte last week, while Logano has won here but that was with Gibbs and has finished 23rd or worse in four of his last five here.
Denny Hamlin is seventh in the chase for the Cup and is 11-to-1 this week at DraftKings Sportsbook thanks in large part to his struggles of late and here at Long Pond.
The Pocono 400 is at 2 p.m. EDT/11 a.m. PDT on Sunday and will be televised in the United States on FS1. The race can also be heard on SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
Longshot: Kurt Busch (20-to-1 at DraftKings Sportsbook).
