The Bills (12-3) and Bengals (11-4) will meet for the last Monday Night Football matchup of the season in a game that may decide home field advantage in the AFC playoff race.
Both teams are far removed from their last loss, but the Bengals made their 22-18 victory over the Patriots last weekend closer than it had to be. After running out to a 22-0 lead at halftime, Joe Burrow threw a pick-six to Marcus Jones on their second third-quarter drive, and the defense gave up touchdowns on each of the Patriots’ next two offensive drives. The Bengals missed a field goal and lost a fumble on two of their next drives, and might’ve let the game slip if they didn’t recover a fumble from Rhamondre Stevenson themselves.
Nevertheless, the Bengals have won each of their last seven games. Their 367.4 yards per game ranks seventh in the league and their 26.1 points per game ranks sixth (they’ve scored one less point than fifth-ranked Detroit). Still, they’ll be without starting right tackle La’el Collins for this game after he suffered a dislocated kneecap against the Patriots.
The Bills spent last Saturday routing the Bears 35-13 for their sixth straight win, more than doubling the Bears yardage output on roughly the same number of plays. Their rushing offense accounted for 254 of those yards, with Devin Singletary and James Cook running for 205 yards and two touchdowns on 23 carries. The Bears attempted to run a similarly run-heavy offensive gameplan, but the Bills defense racked up 11 tackles for loss.
The Bengals are 12-3 ATS this season, and have covered in each of their last seven games. The Bills are 7-7-1 ATS this season and 3-3 ATS on their current six-game win streak.
The over is 10-29-1 in Bengals and Bills games this season and only 1-4 in the Bengals’ last five games, but it’s hit in each of the Bills’ last two.
