Los Angeles FC Predicted to Win ‘MLS Is Back’ Tournament as U.S. Soccer Season Begins

Author: americangambler | Last Updated: June 30, 2020

North America will reintroduce another sport back into its regular programming when the Major League Soccer season resumes with its ‘MLS Is Back’ tournament beginning July 8.

A total of 26 teams will head to Orlando, Florida, for the restart of the 2020 MLS campaign, with last season’s Western Conference finalists, Los Angeles FC, tipped to take an early victory upon returning.

Bob Bradley’s side lost to eventual champions the Seattle Sounders, but the west-coast giants are runaway frontrunners at +350 (4.50) to top the comeback tournament, according to SugarHouse NJ. Their price is less than half that of the next closest contender, Toronto FC, who could hold a lot of value at +900 (10.00) for New Jersey customers.

Teams have been allocated into six groups—five groups of four clubs and one containing six franchises—and will compete for place in a knockout stage involving 16 of those outfits.

‘MLS Is Back’ Betting Preview & Predictions

Every team apart from those top two is listed at +1100 (12.00) and over, with Los Angeles FC and Toronto the clear favorites to do well in a shortened-format competition. Whichever teams make the final in Orlando will play a maximum of seven games over the course of just one month.

A lot will come down to which team can react best following the coronavirus lockdown period. There’s a good chance Toronto may benefit from Canada’s respectable COVID-19 response—the country suffered around 8,500 coronavirus-related deaths and recently recorded single-digit daily death tolls, while the United States has yet to record fewer than 250 deaths per day.

Toronto FC recently celebrated their return to full training ahead of the ‘MLS Is Back’ tournament, with a roster including stars like Jozy Altidore, Alejandro Pozuelo, Pablo Piatti and Jonathan Osorio looking to lead them to victory:

The Canadian outfit undoubtedly has one of the most talented rosters in MLS, and coach Greg Vanney’s side have a prime opportunity to win if the pandemic does have any direct effect on their fortunes compared to other U.S. states.
