Jamahal Hill vs. Ovince Saint Preux UFC 16 Prediction & Odds

Author: AmericanGambler1234 | Last Updated: December 3, 2020

There’s a considerable amount of hype surrounding Jamahal Hill in the UFC’s light heavyweight division, and for good reason given he’s finished two of his last three opponents and has already won twice in 2020.

“Sweet Dreams” is a -177 moneyline favorite at Sugarhouse to extend his unblemished pro record to 8-0 (one no-contest) against Ovince Saint Preux, who will be the biggest test of his career to date.

“OSP” (25-14) boasts more than five times the number of fights Hill has under his belt and is eight years his opponent’s senior at 37. He comes into this bout as the +140 underdog, but there’s a very good chance the veteran will come out on top if he can get Hill to the floor:

That being said, Saint Preux is 3-4 since the start of 2018 and has looked open for punishment in numerous of his recent bouts. Every fighter reaches a point in their career when they must pass the torch to the next generation, and this matchup has the feel of a fixture where the more youthful up-and-comer will make that extra pep in their step count.

Hill throws his punches in great volume and managed to stand up to the grappling threat of Darko Stosic (literally) in January of this year, popping back each time he was taken down. Saint Preux’s toughness may save him from the finish, but Hill’s pace and ability to lead with his jab should see him win over 15 minutes.

Prediction: Hill via decision.

Odds via Sugarhouse NJ.
