Herbert Burns vs. Daniel Pineda Prediction: Burns via KO/TKO
UFC 252 Fight: Herbert Burns (-280) vs. Daniel Pineda (+230). Here is our betting preview and prediction, based on odds by U.S. sportsbooks.
Originally intended to take place in the early preliminaries, Herbert Burns’ featherweight fight with Daniel Pineda was moved to the main card after Ion Cutelaba tested positive for the coronavirus and was forced to reschedule his matchup with Magomed Ankalaev.
A grander spotlight promises to work in favor of Burns, whose brother, Gilbert, has already entered into the title hunt at welterweight. Younger sibling Herbert has been heavily backed by the bookmakers at -280 to win, via William Hill NJ, while Pineda follows far behind at +230 ahead of his second UFC debut.
Pineda posted a 3-4 record in his first run with the promotion before being released in 2014, and he’s since lost just twice in 12 fights with other promotions since (including two no-contests).
“The Pit” hasn’t been submitted in more than a decade, but Burns is more than capable standing up and in the clinch, meaning the +650 odds for the Brazilian to win via KO/TKO look tempting.
