Belmont Stakes Preview
The Belmont Stakes is less than two weeks away. The final infamous leg of the Triple Crown of horse racing will take place will take place on June 8 in New York.
It will be 151 years of the race and the longest historically of the three races including The Kentucky Derby and Preakness Stakes.
The race is heating up for bettors. One of the top contenders War of Will is going to be on hand with legendary trainer Mark Casse.
This will be his first Belmont Stakes starter in 41 years as a trainer when the final leg of the Triple Crown takes place at Belmont Park.
War of Will took home the Grade 1, $1.65 million purse on May 18 at Pimlico Race Course after coming in ninth place in the Grade Two Louisiana Derby. Prior one of the largest controversies in racing history led War of Will to be caught up in the middle of the buzz. Country Horse ended up taking home The Kentucky Derby win only to be pulled from the Preakness due to a virus. This was the first Preakness since 1996 that the Kentucky Derby champion was absent from the race.
