After winning six of their last eight games, the Steelers (8-8) find themselves with a chance at another winning season for Mike Tomlin and an outside shot at an AFC wildcard bid when they host the Browns (7-9) on Sunday.

The Browns have alternated wins and losses over the past five weeks, most recently defeating the Commanders 24-10 to eliminate them from playoff contention last Sunday. Nick Chubb ran for 104 yards on only 14 carries, Amari Cooper went for 105 yards and a pair of touchdowns on only two catches, and Grant Delpit came down with two of the three interceptions that the Browns defense ultimately took from Carson Wentz.

The Steelers didn’t win in overly impressive fashion last week, but they scored their first touchdown when it mattered most in the 16-13 victory over the Ravens. Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren combined for 187 yards on 34 rushing attempts, and Minkah Fitzpatrick came up with an interception to end the Ravens’ last offensive drive. Kenny Pickett led the offense on several long drives against a strong Baltimore defense, completing 15 of 27 passes for 168 yards, but Pittsburgh has still only eclipsed 20 points once through their last five games.

In each of their games dating back to October, both the Browns and Steelers have covered the spread in each of their victories and fallen short in each of their losses. The over has only hit in one of the Steelers’ last five games, and hasn’t hit in any of the Browns last six.
