Canelo Alvarez vs. Callum Smith December 19 Prediction
Odds and betting preview: Canelo Alvarez to Beat Callum Smith via Decision (+200)
NJ sportsbooks have been clear in their judgement that Saul Alvarez will beat Callum Smith to claim the WBA (Super) and The Ring super-middleweight titles when they meet on December 19. What’s more surprising is that “Canelo” can be at moneyline odds as short as -625 to win while the price for a decision victory look so much more appetising at +200 with William Hill New Jersey.

Granted, this will be the biggest challenge of Smith’s career to date (by some margin), but the Liverpudlian is 27-0 for a reason. Moreover, but he’s already won in the United States once in June 2019 when he finished Hassan N’Dam N’Jikam in the third round at Madison Square Garden, his first successful defense of the WBA (Super) and The Ring belts.
It works against Smith that this fight will take place at the Alamadome in San Antonio, Texas. Canelo scored a controversial draw in his first fight against Gennady Golovkin back in September 2017 when many felt the judges’ scorecards should have resulted in a loss for the Mexican.
Unbeaten Smith has the mettle to go all 12 rounds with Alvarez—who has now won by decision in four of his last six fights—but the advantage lies with Canelo if it’s left to the judges.
