At the end of every year, the Breeders’ Cup World Championships bring together the top horses, jockeys, and trainers for two days of racing. Our Breeders Cup betting guide will go over everything you need to know before placing your wagers.
The Breeders’ Cup Championship is a total of 14 races, but the Breeders’ Cup Classic is the most popular and runs on Saturday. This year, it is taking place at the Del Mar Thoroughbred Club in Southern California.
Championship Saturday has over $22 million in purses, leading up to the $6 million Breeders’ Cup Classic. November 5th and 6th of 2021 will be the 38th edition of the popular horse racing event.

The Best Breeders’ Cup Betting Sites
The Breeders’ Cup is the most popular horse racing event outside of the Triple Crown. There are several sites you can use to wager.
If you have yet to sign up for these sites, there are sign up bonuses available. After that, Breeders’ Cup betting bonuses will be provided for both days.
TVG
TVG is the official wagering partner of the Breeders’ Cup and is easily one of the best sites to use for horse racing. It is offering multiple bonuses for the Championship, such as cashback for 2nd and 3rd place finishes.
If you have a TVG account, you will get a free Breeders’ Cup brochure and be able to look at past performances of all of the horses racing.
TVG has all of the features that you need from a horse betting site. You can use various handicapping tools, look at expert analysis, and watch race replays.
AmWager
AmWager prides itself on being the fastest platform for horse betting. You can quickly bet on races and live stream all races.
It’s any easy-to-use site for betting on the Breeders’ Cup. We highly recommend it, especially for beginners.
If you are betting on AmWager, you can earn cash back rewards through the loyalty program. It also has many handicapping tools, some of which you can’t find anywhere else.

Breeders’ Cup Classic Picks
To find Breeders Cup picks, you can visit one of the horse racing sites that we have mentioned to look at expert analysis. It’s easy to receive that information on the same site you will use for betting on the Breeders Cup.
Trainer Brad Cox has the Two Favorites
Both horses that are favored to win the Breeders Cup are trained by Brad Cox.
Knicks Go is a 5-year-old gray horse bred in Maryland. He is the stablemate of the other favorite, Essential Quality. In the 23 career starts for Knicks Go, he has finished first 9 times. And he is even getting better with age, winning four out of his six races in 2021.
Knicks Go is no stranger to the Breeders’ Cup. The horse competed in the Breeders’ Cup Dirt Mile in 2020, winning the race. Joel Rosario will be the jockey.
Many people may remember Essential Quality from winning the 2021 Belmont Stakes and Travers Stakes. He also competed at the Breeders’ Cup Championship last year, winning the Juvenile.
Bob Baffert’s Derby Winner
Medina Spirit will also be a horse that is a popular bet. Just winning the Awesome Again Stakes at Santa Anita, Medina Spirit has come in the top three in all of his eight races this year.
The jockey has been John R. Velazquez. I can see this being a great across-the-board wager. I don’t think that Medina Spirit will finish too far off from the lead. Baffert always seems to perform well in the biggest races, even in controversy!
How to Watch the Breeders’ Cup
The Breeders’ Cup can be seen on live stream using TVG or AmWager. Both Breeders Cup betting sites will have streams of all of the races.
The Breeders’ Cup Classic will be shown on NBC, but that is the only race that will be nationally televised.
How to Bet on the Breeders’ Cup
When using the Breeders Cup betting sites our page, you can wager in multiple different ways.
- Win – Wagering on one a horse to win the race.
- Place – Wagering on a horse to finish at least 2nd in a race.
- Show – Wagering on a horse to finish at least 3rd in a race.
- Across the Board – Placing a win, place, and show bet on the same horse. A $2 ATB bet would be $6.
- Exacta – Picking the horses that will finish in 1st and 2nd.
- Trifecta – Picking the horses that will finish 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.
- Superfecta – Picking the horses that will finish 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
If you simply place an exacta or trifecta bet, you have to get the order correctly. However, you can box those bets, which is more expensive, but the horses can finish in any order.
You can also bet on multiple races with one bet.
- Daily Double – Select the winners for two races.
- Pick 3 – Select the winners of three races.
- Pick 4 – Selecting the winners of four races.
The track condition will play a big role in how people bet. Breeders Cup betting sites will tell you if the track is fast, muddy, or sloppy before the race starts.
