Bengals @ Browns Predictions & Prop Bets: No. 1 Draft Pick Joe Burrow Set for First Win in Week 2?

Both the Cincinnati Bengals and the Cleveland Browns kicked off the 2020 NFL season in defeat, but No. 1 draft pick Joe Burrow hopes to get the former off the mark in the Battle of Ohio on Thursday.

The rookie’s maiden NFL outing ended in a 16-13 defeat to the Los Angeles Chargers, though Burrow himself impressed as one of Cincinnati’s more impressive players and came away with a debut touchdown:

AFC North rivals Cleveland suffered a one-sided 38-6 defeat to division contenders the Baltimore Ravens, but that hasn’t stopped the Browns coming up as favorites for their Week 2 clash. Coach Kevin Stefanski’s side are at -250 with Sugarhouse promo, but New Jersey bettors may be tempted to lean further in the Bengals’ direction as +215 underdogs.

There’s a strong case that Cincinnati should have beaten the Chargers in Week 1 were it not for a late missed kick by Randy Bullock. The Bengals may not be clear enough to beat a six-point spread at -110, but the evidence is there the team could redeem itself at FirstEnergy Stadium.

Bengals v. Browns Betting Preview 

Neither of these teams will count Week 1 as displaying the best they have to offer. That being said, both teams are in need of considerable touch-ups.

The Bengals will hope to get wide receiver A.J. Green firing after new recruit Burrow scored their only touchdown at home in Week 1, while the Browns are hoping to tighten up after leaking five TDs to Baltimore.

With neither offense flourishing as desired, a prop price of +440 for a Cincinnati field goal to be the first scoring play gauges our interest, per Pointbset NJ/CO/IL/IN. The Bengals have claimed kicker Andrew Seibert off waivers after Bullock was injured during his key missed kick in Week 1, and it would be somewhat poetic if the former Browns came back to damage his old side.

Burrow also appeals at +425 to bag a touchdown at anytime, or +2200 to grab the first TD of the game. The 23-year-old will have gained in confidence as a result of his sole score versus the Chargers, and frustration in his attacking options may steer him to take matters into his own hands again.
