5Dimes Online Sportsbook Review: App May Enter US/NJ Legal Betting Market

Author: AmericanGambler1234 | Last Updated: October 1, 2020
Costa Rican-based online sportsbook 5Dimes is making a bid to enter the ever-expanding legal U.S. sports betting market. The first state could be NJ.

This move had been anticipated when late last month 5Dimes, operating in the USA in the grey area of legality as an offshore entity, stopped accepting bets from American customers. The sportsbook informed all of its players from the USA to transfer all funds out of their accounts by Sept. 25.

Meanwhile, 5Dimes created an entirely new corporate entity that is separate from its Costa Rican operation. They incorporated 5D Americas LLC in the state of Delaware.

At the time, the 5Dimes website promised that they intended to “take advantage of the opportunity to offer an improved online sports betting experience” to their American players.

5Dimes entered into a settlement agreement with the U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania (EDPA). The $46.8 million settlement was of an investigation into illegal US sports betting operations, as well as money laundering and wire fraud. The U.S. government considers offshore betting sites that accept American customers to be illegal operations, since they are not regulated by any U.S. government agency.

Reaching this settlement is expected to make the company eligible to apply to enter the legal, regulated U.S. gaming industry under a new corporate structure, free and clear of any restrictions on the use or transfer of its assets and in full compliance with U.S. law.

“Along with a team of trusted advisors, I am exploring how we might relaunch 5Dimes as a legal sportsbook and casino in the legal, regulated U.S. market to continue serving our many loyal customers,” 5Dimes owner Laura Varela said in a statement.

5Dimes Sportsbook App

At 5Dimes, they boast of offering the biggest variety of sporting events throughout the world, including some events you would never expect to have the opportunity to wager on. And when you look on their site and see betting lines on European water polo matches, it’s hard to argue that point.

In business since the mid-1990s, 5Dimes is known for their reduced juice options and their wide variety of live in-play wagering options.

States where 5Dimes can launch its online sportsbook app with promo offers: NJ, Indiana, Colorado, Illinois, Tennessee, Virginia and other US states.

5Dimes Bonus & Promo Code

New players to 5Dimes sports can expect to access their signup bonus, a 50 percent deposit match beginning at $100 and maxing out at $500. If/when promo code is needed to claim your bonus we will update you on this, but only when 5Dimes bet app becomes legal in the USA/NJ, maybe in 2021.

The 5Dimes mobile app works with both iOS and Android devices.
