2020 Masters Predictions: Which Prop Bets Are Worth Backing at Augusta National
The golf major season will stage a triumphant send-off when the 2020 Masters tees off at Augusta National Golf Club on Thursday, with Bryson DeChambeau the favorite to take home the top prize.
DeChambeau opened his major collection after winning the 2020 U.S. Open in September, and Sugarhouse now have him in front as the +750 front-runner in Georgia.
Many bettors may not consider the Modesto native worthy of investment at that price, with fellow Californian Xander Schauffele (+1400) and Brooks Koepka (+1600) likely to prove popular.
Thankfully, a straight winner forecast is far from the only betting opportunity on the table with Sugarhouse, and we’ve got you covered for alternative prop picks worthy of attention.
Bryson DeChambeau & Dustin Johnson: One-Two Finish (+8000)
Golf is often much more open to upsets than other sports, but a lot of the time, the leaders eke their heads in front of the competition for a reason.
DeChambeau (+750) and Dustin Johnson (+800) are the men to beat according to Sugarhouse NJ, where you can back the most fancied pair at +8000 to finish first and second, respectively.
Johnson took the runner-up spot last year when he marked a fourth straight top-10 finish at the Masters, while the relentless driving powers of DeChambeau
Fred Couples: Top 20 Finish (+1600)
Sixty-one years of age and still going strong, Fred Couples will compete in his 35th Masters this weekend, just seven shy of participating in half the tournaments that have taken place to date.
Couples has tried his luck at the green jacket more than any other major, and the 1992 champion has finished among the top 10 almost once in every three attempts:

The veteran came 38th at the 2018 Masters failed to make the cut at Augusta last year, but that doesn’t change the fact he’s made it into the final 20 six times since 2010. His +1600 odds with Sugarhouse to manage the feat again in 2020 could be exposed if able to revive even close to his best at a course he’s been shown to enjoy over the years.
The last time Couples missed the cut here, he came back to tie for 18th in his next appearance, and we’re backing him for a classier return in 2020 as well.
Matt Kuchar: Top 10 Finish (+750)
Matt Kuchar has been a constant contender at the Masters over the past decade and notched four top-10 finishes at Augusta since 2012 (three of which were fifth or better).
The Florida native came 12th in last year’s Masters and is +750 with Sugarhouse to finish inside the top 10 this time around, a pursuit in which his wedge talents will be a big determining factor:
Brooks Koepka: First-Round Leader (+2500)
There is no tournament in which Brooks Koepka has demonstrated such traceable year-on-year improvement as the Masters, climbing once again with a share of second place in 2019. If his trajectory in the competition is to to continue, that means there’s nowhere left for the four-time major winner except first place at Augusta this year.
One of the form players, if not the player, in major competitions over recent years, Koepka’s consistency has turned him into a must-watch talent in any field:
The first round tends to be something of a lottery at any contest, but Sugarhouse‘s +2500 price on Koepka to lead after 18 holes looks particularly high given his levels of late.

2020 Masters Winner: Xander Schauffele On Trend to Win Maiden Major at Augusta
Bryson DeChambeau will begin the 2020 Masters as slim favorite to beat Dustin Johnson to his second major of the year, but a field of 90 other top players hope to spark an upset at Augusta National.
The 84th edition of the Masters will take place seven months later than intended, but the Georgia tournament will be a welcome high note on which to end the golf major season in 2020:
DeChambeau has attracted even greater plaudits as a Grand Slam contender after winning his first major at the U.S. Open in September. New Jersey bettors can back “The Scientist” at +750 with Sugarhouse, inches ahead of perennial challenger Dustin Johnson at +800.
There’s a lot to like about DeChambeau’s chances since bulking up over the past year, with his massive drive again being talked about as a supreme advantage. His coach, Mike Schy, recently hyped up DeChambeau’s odds even more if the wet-weather forecast for Augusta this week proves trues, per BBC Sport:
“The course is going to be super soft, so Bryson carrying it 330 yards is a ginormous advantage.
“When you look at Matthew Wolff, runner-up at the US Open, he was hitting it pretty far, but the fairways were hard and fast, whereas Bryson was carrying it 50 yards past him. The guy who can carry it the farthest will have a huge advantage.”
But there’s a lot to be said for playing smart, too, which is where +1400 shot Xander Schauffele enters the picture.
Schauffele has been much more consistent than DeChambeau (and most others) in their recent major activity, thriving on his calm, collected approach and showcasing a superbly balanced skillset:
It’s that roundedness that’s more than likely to tell at a course as demanding as Augusta, where no one particular strength will earn the victory alone. Schauffele is looking to go one better after taking a share of the runner-up prize at Augusta last year when he ended one shot behind Tiger Woods.
Those not as confident Schauffele will end his wait for a major may otherwise be interested in Sugarhouse PA‘s +350 price he’ll finish in the top five, or +164 he makes the top 10.
