Colorado casinos that offer or may offer sportsbooks

There are currently over 40 casinos in the state of Colorado, and any number of them could offer a sportsbook, and a sports betting app quickly upon launch. Horse and dog race betting is also legal in the state of Colorado, but there currently aren’t any state licensed racing betting apps available for download. There will likely be racing apps available upon launch as well, as .

Colorado has many casinos (that will offer soon sports betting floors with kiosks and nice promotions) located throughout the state and has really embraced this side of gambling. The Native American casinos are not the only ones to operate in the state these days. Several of their old Gold Rush mining towns have been converted to resorts for skiing and, of course, gambling. The Gold Rush metaphor was just too great to ignore. Colorado gives you plenty of options as these casinos offer a little bit of everything. From gaming floors, to fine dining, to arts and entertainment.

Century Casino and Hotel

Located just 40 miles west of Denver, the Century Casino and Hotel is one of the best casino offerings in the entire state. Since its first opening in 2006, the Century has undergone a few changes and expansions. The now offer a 26-room hotel, plenty of dining options and, of course, all the table games a casino needs. Slots, craps, roulette, and video poker are all available for folks looking to strike it rich in Century City.

They have over 600 slots and all of the most popular table games every casino needs. Their poker room is very active as well with plenty of action to be found. The resort matches the casino here as there is plenty of golf, shopping, and dining available. This is cattle country after all, so do not be surprised by the number steakhouses in the general area as well.

Monarch Casino Blackhawk (Sportsbook Expected)

In another Gold Rush town turned casino hub, Monarch Casino Blackhawk the best in town. The Monarch definitely focuses on the casino aspect of their product as they offer over 700 slots, have a large poker room, all the most popular table games, and a few more players will be eager to try. They do offer several restaurants for dining and an entertainment venue featuring national acts. The gaming floor is where you’ll want to be though as the Monarch makes the most of every inch they have.

Sports betting in Colorado: Legislation & Bills

Retrospective.

Colorado is trying to gear up for legal sports betting following the Supreme Court decision on May 14, 2018, that struck down the federal ban on sports betting (PASPA). States can now legalize sports betting with legislative approval.

Colorado hopes to join other states up and running so residents can enjoy betting on college and pro football and basketball, hockey, baseball, golf, soccer, tennis, UFC and other sports of interest.

Should any proposed legislation bills be passed to allow legal sports betting, the initial proposed locations for legal sports betting would be casinos that offer legal Las Vegas-style casino gambling about 30 miles west of Denver in Black Hawk, Cripple Creek, and Central City.

State legislators from both parties have advocated for sports betting. A public policy information sheet on sports betting is available through the Department of Revenue (DOR), which believes it should serve as the oversight and regulatory body for sports betting. The Colorado Gaming Association which oversees the states casino industry, and believes selected casinos in Black Hawk, Cripple Creek and Central City should have exclusive rights to offer sports betting.

Colorado legalized daily fantasy sports (DFS) in 2016. There are currently no new legal sports betting bill in place for 2019, so any public vote is still waiting for legislation. Legal sports betting in Colorado won’t happen until at least 2020.
