Tennessee Lottery

Tennessee proves to be one of the toughest state in the country to place a legal wager. There are a few horse tracks and Daily Fantasy Sports is completely legal but, truly, the only option endorsed by the state is its state lottery.

With all of the major lottery games available, for both scratch offs and drawings, Tennessee using a significant portion of the lottery revenue for education in the state. Mega Millions, Powerball, Lotto, and Tennessee’s own Cash for Life are all very successful lotteries in the state.

You must be 18 and older to play and games cost as little as $1 but will vary depending on which you choose.

This isn’t to say there are not gamblers in the state. Tennessee’s neighboring states such as Mississippi and Missouri both capture many state residents crossing state lines to place wagers of some sort. In fact, it is estimated 10% of Mississippi’s casino action comes from Tennessee.

This, along with the success of the lottery, should spark interest in the state’s interest to expand their gambling industry. However, there has been little to no movement in many years so the industry in Tennessee looks to be a decided one.
