Online gambling on horse racing is not legal in Missouri.

The Show-Me State had 13 casinos and two tribal casinos. Several neighboring states also allow gaming and cater to Missouri residents who aren’t living in close proximity to one of the state’s licensed gambling emporiums.

State law also allows for licensed pari-mutuel betting on horse racing at the track, but that’s problematic since there are no live horse racing venues in the state.

As a result, no advance licensed U.S. deposit wagering providers, which enables betting on horse races via the telephone or internet, currently do business with residents of Missouri.

That means offshore website operating in defiance of state law are the only option for residents looking to place a bet on a horse race.

Like a few other states, Missouri allows casino gambling on “riverboats,” which means they must be surrounded with water and within 1000 feet of an approved river, and tribal casinos. It also offers a state-run lottery and charitable gaming on bingo and the like.
