BetFred Enters Colorado Market in a Big Way
British bookmaker BetFred has gone live with sports betting in Colorado, and the Manchester-based sports betting entity definitely launched by making a major splash within the market.
BetFred is launching its new sportsbook June 17th in partnership with Saratoga Casino in Black Hawk, which is reopening for business following a COVID-19-induced shutdown. These two gambling entities entered into an operating agreement in January. BetFred will operate a retail sportsbook in the casino, and should have its mobile sports betting operation active by the time NFL season kicks off in September.
At the same time, BetFred online sportsbook also announced a deal to be the official online sports betting partner of the biggest deal in Colorado, the NFL’s Denver Broncos.
It’s a multi-year partnership between BetFred Colorado and the three-time Super Bowl champion Broncos. As part of the deal, BetFred app will operate a mobile sports betting lounge outside Empower Field at Mile High as part of game-day tailgating festivities. This will provide Broncos fans of legal betting age (21 and older) with the opportunity to discover all about the BetFred mobile sports betting app from BetFred staff, view live odds on sporting events and partake in pre-game activities. The lounge will be set up adjacent to Sports Legends Mall.
This could prove a vital path to prominence for BetFred in the Colorado sports betting market. A popular entity in the United Kingdom founded by brothers Fred and Pete Done, BetFred started in the industry in 1967 and boasts over 1600 retail outlets and a leading online platform. However, BetFred is a relatively unknown quantity on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.
“We knew we needed to be aggressive upon entering the Colorado market with a Vegas-quality sportsbook and a sponsorship agreement with the Denver Broncos, one of the premier franchises in US sports,” BetFred USA Sports chief executive officer Bryan Bennett told DenverBroncos.com. “We look forward to launching our online platform right before football season.”
The company created the Las Vegas-based BetFred USA Sports in 2019 to gain a foothold within the burgeoning American sports betting market.
