Here is our UEFA Champions League Group Picks (Group Stage Betting Predictions) 2019/2020 for US players. Betting odds by BetAmerica.
Last year’s UEFA Champions League and Europa League finals could have easily be instead labeled the All-England Finals. It was Liverpool over Tottenham Hotspur for the UCL title, while Chelsea toppled Arsenal to claim the Europa League crown.
The sportsbooks aren’t keen on a repeat Champions League Group performance. New York’s BetAmerica pegs Liverpool as the third betting choice to win the 2019-20 UCL at +650, behind Manchester City (+335) and Barcelona (+500). As the group stages get underway, let’s look at both competitions to decipher which teams should advance to the knockout portion of the events.
Champions League Group Stage Betting Predictions:
There shouldn’t be much drama in this group. Real Madrid has won three of the last five UCL titles. The Spanish side is BetAmerica’s fourth pick to win it all at +800.
Paris Saint-Germain advanced to the knockout round last year and will do so again.
Club Brugge and Galatasaray will be going home.
Another group that should be straightforward. Bayern Munich is a lock to go on and as long as Harry Kane stays healthy, Tottenham will join them in the knockout stages.
Olympiakos and Red Star Belgrade won’t be pushovers but they won’t push on past this stage of the competition.
Favorites Manchester City will get through easily. Second place isn’t as cut and dried. Atalanta play a lovely, attacking game but Shakhtar Donetsk are UCL hardened and that will give them the slight advantage.
Dinamo comes in on the bottom.
This one could be classified as the group of death. Logically, Juventus and Atletico Madrid, each with two UCL final appearance in the past six years on their resumes, should advance.
But Bayer Leverkussen, a UCL finalist in 2001-02, looms dangerously and could take one of them out.
Lokomotiv Moscow won’t be a factor.
Napoli were a last-minute Alisson Becker save away from eliminating Liverpool in last year’s Group phase. This time around, they’ll both go on.

Seems they can’t wait to go to Anfield!
Red Star Salzburg and RKC Gent won’t be up to the challenge.
Another rugged group. Barcelona should win for fun. But the battle for second spot in the knockout phase between Inter Milan and Borussia Dortmund will be epic. Give the Germans the edge.
Slavia Praha won’t know what hit them.
RB Leipzig are tearing it up early into the Bundesliga season.
Lyon are a talented side that should outlast Zenit St. Petersburg and Benfica for the second spot.
Ajax were in the UCL semi-finals last season. Chelsea won the Europa League and Valencia was in the final four.
Ajax wins this group, Chelsea also moves on. The dreams of Valencia and Lille come to a crashing halt.
