Score Digital Sports Ventures Inc., known by its brand name theScore Bet has secured market access to operate an online casino in New Jersey via a multi-year agreement with Twin River Worldwide Holdings, Inc.
The partnership is for 10 years. TheScore Bet anticipates launching its online casino product in New Jersey during the second half of 2021. This would be subject to securing applicable licensing and regulatory approvals from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and the completion of Twin River's pending acquisition of Bally's Atlantic City Hotel & Casino in Atlantic City, N.J. from Caesars Entertainment.
This will be theScore Bet’s first venture into the online casino industry. “The addition of an online casino offering to our award-winning and truly differentiated mobile sports betting platform broadens our reach and deepens our strong portfolio of assets,” John Levy, Founder and CEO of theScore, said in a statement.
TheScore Bet is already partnered in New Jersey with Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport to operate theScore’s online sportsbook, known as theScore Bet. The two sides entered into a 15-year agreement to enable theScore to supply an online sports betting option via theScore’s mobile app.
Under the agreement with Twin River, the company will receive a percentage of revenue derived from theScore Bet’s online casino operations in New Jersey, subject to certain annual minimum guaranteed amounts, an upfront fee, and renewal fees if applicable. The current 10-year agreement is extendable by a five-year renewal term at theScore's option and a further five-year renewal term upon mutual agreement of the parties.
Besides its New Jersey sports betting operation, theScore Bet is also poised to launch an online and mobile sports betting presence in Colorado. The company is also getting ready to roll out its product in Indiana, subject to the receipt of regulatory approval.
