UFC 148 Odds for: Su Mudaerji (-334) vs. Malcolm Gordon (+265)
An early upset very much looks as though it could be on the cards at UFC Fight Night 184 when submission expert Malcolm Gordon will look to exert his will over “The Tibetan Eagle,” Su Mudaerji.
Despite being the -334 favorite with Borgata (available to New Jersey customers), Mudaerji looks liable Gordon’s ground assault considering each of his four professional losses have come via submission.
That just so happens to play in favor of +265 underdog Gordon, who has tapped the opposition in each of his last three wins. Both fighters are 12-4 as professionals, though their careers have far different trajectories considering Mudaerji is still only 24.
Given that dearth in age experience, it’s understandable the Tibetan Eagle is still learning the finer workings of grappling, while Gordon has come to thrive on the ground.
“X” was caught in a triangle choke of his own when he lost to Amir Albazi in July, ending a run of four wins in a row. It’s been four years since he last suffered a knockout loss, and while Mudaerji has taken 10 of his 12 victories via KO, his one-dimensional game could again see him come undone against a serious submission threat.
Prediction: Gordon via submission
