Horse Racing Betting Locations in Massachusetts

The state continues to offer simulcasting of racing from other states at three locations – Suffolk Downs, Plainridge Park and Raynham Park in Raynham.

The Bay State was once home to a robust live racing industry, with Suffolk Downs in Boston running thoroughbreds, horse racing held at county fairs and several dog tracks. All are now gone with the exception of Plainridge Park in Plainville, a “racino” that hosts standardbred harness racing in addition to offering casino gaming.

Horse racing has long been very popular in Massachusetts. There are nine tracks in operation in the state going back to the 1930’s.

Massachusetts's laws allow casino gambling (both tribal and commercial), charitable gaming, a state lottery and pari-mutuel wagering on dog and horse racing.
