California Casino

As you probably know, California is a big state and it has over 150 casinos available. However, California is a bit different than other states as there are two types of casinos available.

There are normal casinos featuring table games, slots machines, and video poker and there are card rooms featuring poker and other card games of skill. Poker is legal in California but must be played in the card rooms, separate from casinos.

The casinos in California are all Native American run and have been in existence since the late 1980’s. The California resorts all have unique qualities and here we look at three examples of this establishments.

Best California Casino Locations & Sportsbooks (Expected)

The Bicycle Hotel and Casino

Since 1984, the Bicycle Hotel and Casino has been one of California’s most popular spots. Technically, this establishment is considered to be a card room and, therefore, they can only offer card games of skill so you won’t find table games such as roulette or craps in a California card room. Located in Los Angeles, “the Bike” is known for its poker rooms, blackjack tables and baccarat. Over the years, the Bicycle Hotel and Casino and its poker play has made the rounds of television quite often. It has been a location in primetime T.V. shows and even produced its own show, “Live at the Bike” for years. Maybe Pointsbet, SugarHouse or bet365 will offer their betting services here.

Graton Resort and Casino

The Graton Resort and Casino is one of the state’s largest casinos. They offer up over over 3000 slot machines, over 150 table games, and a poker room to boot. The Graton is located in Somona County and is owned and operated by the Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria. They don’t only function as a casino either with the hotel, fine dining options, and an entertainment/event center.

Viejas Casino

Since 1991, the Viejas Casino has been owned and operated by the Viejas Band of Kumeyaay Indians. In this time, they’ve had plenty of changes, renovations, and expansions. For instance, in 2014, the casino underwent a year-long expansion project which included adding 15,000 square feet to their gaming floor and another five-story hotel tower. Viejas now offers over 2000 slot machines with almost 100 table games. There are also restaurants, bars, a day spa and an event center.
