Online sports betting in West Virginia 2019

Sports betting is legal in West Virginia. Following the Supreme Court decision on May 14, 2018 that struck down the federal ban on sports betting (PASPA), states can legalize sports betting with legislative approval. West Virginia enacted a sports betting law in March, 2018 that took effect following the Supreme Court decision. West Virginia became the 5th state to offer legal sports betting in August, 2018, and the state currently has five casinos that allow legal sports betting.

Senate bill 106 was introduced in Jan., 2018. The Senate passed the bill in February and the House passed it in the following weeks.

The legal gambling age in West Virginia is 21. Betting in the state is legal on mobile devices (Fanduel and Draftkings apps) and at the legal sportsbooks in five existing gambling properties and racetrack casinos.
