NBA 2020 Betting Preview
The signing of NBA Finals MVP Kwai Leonard and the trade for NBA All-Star Paul George have vaulted the Los Angeles Clippers to the top of the odds board for the 2020 NBA title.
Caesars Sports Book in Las Vegas moved the Clippers from 10-1 to 11-4 and made them he favorites to win their first-ever title in 2020.
The Los Angeles Lakers were also in the talks to sign Leonard, who led the Toronto Raptors to the 2019 NBA title. When Leonard instead signed with the Clippers and facilitated the trade to get George, the Lakers odds at Cesares went from 7-5 to 4-1 to win their 17th NBA title.
The Lakers, who have Anthony Davis and LeBron James, are still the second choice on most boards along with the top choice in the East, the Milwaukee Bucks, at 4-1. The Philadelphia 76ers are 7-1 followed by the Golden State Warriors at 10-1, the Utah Jazz at 14-1, the Houston Rockets at 18-1 and the new-look Brooklyn Nets at 20-1.
Toronto, after losing Leonard to the Clippers, saw their odds at Cesares go from 10-1 to 50-1.
While most of the Sports Books in both Las Vegas and New Jersey have moved the Clippers to favorites for the 2020 title, one book, William Hill, still has the Lakers on top.
After getting two separate bets of $10,000 and $9,500 on the Lakers to win the title, William Hill still has the Lakers as he 3-1 favorite, with the Clippers right behind at 7-2.
