American Gambler correctly predicted Ryan Blaney would clinch his first win of the season at the 2020 Geico 500 on Monday, with the +1400 pick coming in on the back of a hot streak prior to that.

Prediction: Ryan Blaney to win NASCAR Pocono Organics 325

The 26-year-old remains just outside the odds favorites to book another win in Saturday’s opening race—listed at +1000 (11.00) with William Hill for New Jersey residents—but all the more reason to predict the man now third in the standings can continue his superb post-lockdown form.

As fate would have it, Blaney actually sealed his first NASCAR Cup Series win at Pocono Raceway in 2017, his final season with Wood Brothers Racing before leaving to join Penske. He’s finished outside the top 12 just once in five visits to the track since then and has shown the best average form of any driver since racing returned in May (including five podium finishes in the last seven races).

Kyle Busch won the Pocono Organics 325 last year and is the lowest price of any drive to emerge as victor at +450 (5.50) with DraftKings NJ. Only three drivers have managed to win back-to-back trophies in this race—Bobby Allison (1982-83), Tim Richmond (1986-87) and Jeff Gordon (1996-97)—and the most recent of those was more than 20 years ago.

Failing Blaney, one outside sleeper and former Organics winner worth backing is the elder Busch brother, Kurt, who has traditionally performed well at Pocono and recorded four straight top-five finishes in the Pocono 400 between 2014 and 2017. Busch came ninth at Talladega this week—his sixth top-10 finish in the last seven races—and could be better value than his +2000 (21.00) price suggests. Alternatively, bet365 NJ have the 41-year-old at +550 (6.50) to finish among the top three on Saturday.
