What to Know: After winning their first-ever Super Bowl in the 2017 season, the Eagles nearly missed the playoffs in 2018. It took three straight wins at the end of the season and some help from other teams for Philadelphia to get there. In the playoffs they upset the Chicago Bears on the road, before losing to the New Orleans Saints. The team will undergo some changes during the 2019 offseason, but it remains in the mix for a playoff spot and should challenge Dallas for the top spot in this division.
Best Players: Quarterback Carson Wentz will be back after a back injury sidelined him for the final month of the regular season and the two playoff games. Wide receiver Alshon Jeffery is the team’s big-play threat. Wide receiver DeSean Jackson, acquired in a trade with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is a deep threat. Tight end Zach Ertz is Wentz’ favorite target and should put up big numbers again.
How to Bet: The Eagles are one team that seems to do well on the road over the past few seasons. If you can get them as a road underdog it’s even better. They are also a team, especially early in the season to bet over in an over/under bet, provided the number isn’t too high.
