NASCAR Cup Prediction & Betting Preview

Stewart-Haas Racing’s No. 4, Kevin Harvick, leads the standings by 19 points after he won the Cook Out Southern 500 at Darlington on Sunday, 2020. Harvick took full advantage after leaders Chase Elliott and Martin Truex Jr. made contact to leave a gap at the head, excelling to clinch his fourth victory in the space of seven races:

Harvick and Truex Jr. are joint-leaders to win the Federated Auto Parts 400, available at odds +400 with betMGM promo code offer, having each won this race in the past (twice in Harvick’s case).

A flash of top-five finishes has seen William Byron embark on his best patch of form so far this season, however, and there’s plenty of reason to fancy the outsider at +4500 given his recent improvements.

Prediction: William Byron to win (+4500)

Byron, 22, is less than a fortnight removed from his maiden NASCAR Cup Series win, triumphing in the last race of the regular season, the Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona International Speedway. Sandwiched between fourth and fifth-place finishes at Dover and Darlington, respectively, there’s currently no driver in NASCAR with a superior average placement over those last three events:

The youngster’s best finish at Richmond Raceway was 12th in the 2018 Toyota Owners 400—his first NASCAR appearance on the track—but his age means there’s time for that record to improve. The Hendrick Motorsports star is one of, if not the most promising prospect in the sport at present, but there’s a lot to be said for the momentum he’s earned at present and where it could lead him.

North Carolina native Byron won’t be far from home when he faces a field of more experienced peers in Richmond, and that sense of home comfort may boost the starlet in his search for a second win in three outings.

Prediction: William Byron to win (+4500)
