The motorsport community turns its attention towards Indianapolis Motor Speedway on Sunday for the 104th edition of the Indy 500, a cause for optimism in this disjointed 2020 IndyCar Series.
Scott Dixon started the campaign off in unstoppable form with three consecutive wins, and the five-time IndyCar champion—yet to finish outside the top 12 in any race this term—returns to Speedway as +400 favorite with Unibet for Indiana customers.
The New Zealander will start Sunday’s race on the first row after finishing second only to Marco Andretti in the Fast Nine Shootout, though it’s another front-line starter attracting attention for the win, via Nick DeGroot of motorsport.com:

2020 IndyCar Predictions
That’s because Takuma Sato has made it into the top three starters of the Indy 500 for the first time in his career, and the 2017 champion couldn’t pick a better race to stage his first win of the year.
Japan’s sole IndyCar representative is down the order at +1600 with Unibet for bettors in Indiana, hoping to improve upon his third-place finish at the 2019 Indy 500. Despite failing to win a race thus far in 2020, Sato has four top-10 finishes to his name—the joint-second most of any driver in the field—with only Dixon, Josef Newgarden and Marcus Ericsson managing more (five top-10 finishes each).
Each of the last two Indy500 winners have started among the front three following changes to the NASCAR chassis in recent years, with victories from further back having previously been more commonplace.
The 43-year-old Sat won from fourth on the grid when he took the Indy title three years ago, and a superior start position should give the wizened figure room to impose his gameplan to greater effect come Sunday.
Prediction: Takuma Sato to win
